We recently released four more acoustic tagged stripers.  Two in Biddeford Pool and two in the Saco River.  We had held these fish, in a tank at our lab, for a little longer than expected, but all eventually made it to the water.  We had held on to these fish because Bill King and Dave Berlinsky from UNH were coming up to show us how to take blood and perform biopsies on our fish.  These guys know more about stripers than just about anybody.  In doing these things we are able to determine if these fish are male or female and what state of reproduction they are in.  This helps gather more data to enable us to learn even more about our stripers in the Saco.  If you look through the site you will see that we have added 4 fish profiles with pictures.  There is also data on these fish to show if they stayed around our hydrophones.  Here is me taking blood from one of our newly tagged fish.
