Update June 27, 2006 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Just thought I would give an update on what has been going on so far in the world of striper tracking.
We have tagged 10 fish this season.  All were caught just below the dam in Saco.  Once we finally figured out how to catch river herring to use as bait, we were able to get some stripers to tag.  Largest fish so far was 33 inches and was actually caught by a client of Rippin Lips charters.  They were nice enough to give us the fish to tag.
We were trying to get all of our first 10 fish from as far up river as possible.  We know that these fish are using the river, now we want to find out if they will continue to do so for the rest of the season.  A couple of them have moved down to the mouth of the river already.
Yesterday I added the fish's profiles but I have not added tracking data yet.  Hopefully soon I will be able to post that too.
