Maine Coast Sportfish Trackers

S.W.A.T

(Stripers With Acoustical Tags)

Scientists from the University of New England's Marine Science Center are trying to find out more about the coastal migration of striped bass that visit or inhabit southern Maine's Saco River Estuary and Saco Bay. Knowledge of the seasonal patterns of movement along Maine's coast together with a better understanding of habitat use will provide policy makers with the information to make certain this important sportfish continues to strive.
